Fresh Beats Records proudly presents its tenth release: Paint EP by Lake Lerge. This EP marks a significant milestone in the progression of the LSEM Music Production Courses, showcasing the growth and evolution of our artists and the label itself.
Paint EP is a testament to the diverse influences and experiences that shape Lake Lerge's sound. The EP traverses genres, blending elements of UKG, deep house, breaks, and ambient textures. Each track offers a unique auditory experience that invites listeners to explore new sonic landscapes.
Track Highlights
Feelings
The EP opens with Feelings, a track infused with nostalgic energy. It features skippy drums, dreamy plucks, and chopped '90s R&B vocals. This track nods to Four Tet’s melodic sensibilities, creating an inviting atmosphere.
3D
Next, 3D dives into deep house territory. With a raw, groovy pulse, it combines melancholic chords and sparse vocal chops that command attention. This track is perfect for those late-night sessions where you want to lose yourself in the rhythm.
Tell Me
On Tell Me, ethereal pads and longing vocal snippets weave together with heavy bass pressure. This combination crafts a mesmerizing late-night atmosphere, perfect for winding down or getting lost in thought.
The Road to Nuoro
The Road to Nuoro takes listeners on a meditative journey. Built from sample-based drums, it evokes the ambience of an Italian train station, capturing the sense of movement and exploration.
Feelings (Terrifique Remix)
Finally, Feelings (Terrifique Remix) reimagines the original track. This version transforms it into a Balearic-leaning soundscape, slowed down and wrapped in lush pads and glistening textures. It’s a beautiful conclusion to the EP that leaves you wanting more.

Jake Leigh Watson, the mind behind Lake Lerge, honed his craft through our programme. This EP exemplifies the transformative power of the LSEM webcam programmes.
The course is led by seasoned LSEM tutor Mat Lomas, also known as Portamento, alongside LSEM founder and director Pablo Ranacat. Together, they guide students through a fully immersive, hands-on process that goes beyond standard tutorials. They help producers develop a distinctive sound, create a cohesive body of work, and bring their tracks to a professional release-ready standard.
