DJ TUTOR

SALARY: £20.00/£30.00 per hour (dependent on commitment & experience)

LOCATION: Professional Studios across East London

RESPONSIBLE TO: Director of London School of Electronic Music

 

 

We are currently looking for experienced, dynamic tutors to deliver DJ lessons across East London on our monthly courses designed to train aspiring DJs who are wanting to make their first professional steps into the music scene. The monthly courses span across three levels: beginner, intermediate and advanced. 

 

 

Who are we?

LSEM specialises in training aspiring DJs and Producers to take their first professional steps in the music scene. We mentor students to finish their music and DJ mixes to industry-standard, to be able to release them on record labels and use them as promotional material to get gigs and paid work.

 

We offer group courses and bespoke 1-1 training and coaching in person or via webcam, ranging from entry-level to pro-advanced. Our vision is to nurture talent, developing their artistic skills and personalities through their music.

 

 

Aim of the role:

  • Delivery of high-quality DJ lessons across music genres from House to Techno

  • Cover the LSEM syllabus content from Beginner to Advanced over a 3-month period

  • General learner and teaching management covering group and one-to-one support of learners

  • Guidance on career development, progression and planning

  • A commitment to the LSEM’s values, with a particular focus on student success through excellence in teaching and learning

 

 

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Extensive experience in the music business

  • Significant successful experience in teaching DJ lessons on Pioneer CDJs, DJ Controllers and various mixers

  • Up-to-date knowledge of the subject area and appropriate teaching techniques

  • Knowledge and understanding of mechanisms of identification, assessment, and support of learner needs

  • Understanding of equality and diversity within the curriculum, barriers to learning and strategies to overcome these

Requirements:

  • Expert knowledge of music and mixing techniques

  • Understanding of the latest music industry trends

  • Familiarity with different music genres like house, techno, D&B, hip hop, R&B and pop music

  • Sound IT skills 

  • The ability to make a contribution to the development of the curriculum and resources

  • A good work ethic with the ability to work under pressure, to be flexible, thorough and accurate

  • A commitment to providing outstanding and inspirational service to staff and students

  • A proactive approach, demonstrating an openness to change

  • A commitment to continuing professional development

MUSIC PRODUCTION TUTOR

Ableton Live 11, Logic Pro X and/or FL Studio 21

SALARY: from £25.00 per hour (3 hours teaching once a week plus administration time)

LOCATION: Online via Webcam

RESPONSIBLE TO: Director of London School of Electronic Music

 

 

We are looking for three experienced, dynamic tutors to deliver our Music Production Courses for Logic Pro X, Ableton Live 11, and FL Studio 21.

 

Who are we?

LSEM specialises in training aspiring DJs and Producers to take their first professional steps in the music scene.   • Cover the syllabus content at Foundation Level over a 3 month period

  • General learner and teaching management covering group and one-to-one support of learners

  • Guidance on career development, progression and planning

  • A commitment to the LSEM’s values, with a particular focus on student success (through excellence in teaching and learning)

 

 

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Significant successful experience in teaching in the relevant course area

  • Up-to-date knowledge of the subject area and appropriate teaching techniques
