Go Beyond DJing: Perform a Full Live Set

2 hrThe Qube Studios - Elephant & Castle

-

LSEM's Introduction to Live Electronic Performance is an immersive, hands-on programme for DJs and producers who want to break away from the standard laptop or CDJ setup. Move beyond playing other peopleโ€™s tracks or keeping your beats stuck in the studio, and start creating your sound in real-time using professional, club-ready hardware. Over four weeks of in-person training at Qube, Elephant & Castle, you will master the foundational language of synthesis and sequencing, learning how to perform live or seamlessly integrate drum machines and synths into your existing DJ sets. โŒ ๐—œ๐—ป ๐—ฎ ๐—ป๐˜‚๐˜๐˜€๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—น๐—น: โ˜‘ Duration: 4-week immersion (1 month) โ˜‘ Start Date: Wednesday January 20th (1 lesson per week - evening session) โ˜‘ Location: Qube, Elephant & Castle โ˜‘ Group Size: Max 4 students โ˜‘ Session Length: 2 hours per class โ˜‘ Promo Launch Price: ยฃ325 per month (Full Price ยฃ395) โŒ ๐—ช๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜ ๐—ฌ๐—ผ๐˜‚โ€™๐—น๐—น ๐—Ÿ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ป โ˜‘ Mastery of professional grooveboxes (Elektron Model Samples & Elektron Model Cycles) โ˜‘ Designing Acid basslines and analog leads (Behringer TD-3 & Behringer Crave) โ˜‘ Step sequencing, rhythm programming, and live improvisation โ˜‘ Technical confidence: Cabling, gain staging, and troubleshooting a live rig โ˜‘ Recording and evaluating a live hardware performance โ˜‘ Hybrid DJ mastery: Syncing hardware with CDJs and mixers โŒ ๐—ฌ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฟ ๐˜๐˜‚๐˜๐—ผ๐—ฟ: ๐—ฃ๐—ฒ๐˜๐—ฟ๐˜‚. Petru is a virtuoso live performer and a genius of machine improvisation with extensive knowledge of synthesisers, drum machines, and music production. He is currently a resident tutor at the University of Huddersfield and the winner of the prestigious Richie Hawtin PhD Scholarship. He brings a rare combination of academic expertise and real-world club experience, teaching you not just how to use the gear, but how to perform musically with it. Each class is designed for small groups (maximum four students) to ensure personalised feedback and hands-on experience. Every session will be spent on the machines, completing practical exercises to improve your workflow, timing, and sound design. By the end of the course, youโ€™ll record a live hardware jam, showcasing your new ability to create music on the spot. Top students will also have the chance to perform at an LSEM showcase or radio session. Bring your musical passion, and weโ€™ll take you from the studio to the stage. โŒ ๐—˜๐—ป๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—น ๐—ป๐—ผ๐˜„! Questions?
